FreeBSD Foundation Work in the 13.1 Release: FreeBSD 13.1, which was released on Monday May 16, is the culmination of 13 months of development since 13.0. The work involved 56781 new commits and of those, 8312 or about 15% identified sponsorship by the FreeBSD Foundation. Part of the FreeBSD Foundation’s mission is to support the development of the FreeBSD operating system. In this post they highlight some of the Foundation-sponsored work that went into 13.1.
BSD Now 456: FreeBSD 13.1 : FreeBSD 13.1 is released, Unix command line conventions over time, Branching for NetBSD 10, Microbhyve, Own your Calendar and Contacts with OpenBSD, the PSARC case for ZFS, and more.
NetBSD Google Summer of Code 2022 projects: The NetBSD Foundation has finalized the list of projects for this year’s Google Summer of Code. The community bonding period has already started (from May 20) and it will last until June 12. During this time, the contributors are expected to coordinate with their mentors and community. This will be immediately followed by the coding period from June 13 to September 4. After which, the contributors are expected to submit their final work, evaluate their mentors, and get evaluated by their mentors as well. Results will be announced on September 20.
Welcome FreeBSD Google Summer of Code Participants: The FreeBSD Project is pleased to announced we’ll be working with 7 projects for this year’s Google Summer of Code (GSoC).
